Photoshop Class Sample Image

Lighting Class Details ($129, max of 8 students, 3.5 hours)

If you have some experience with off camera flash and/or studio lighting but want to take your lighting and posing skills to the next level and be involved in a more polished production, this workshop is for you! We will have professional model Clementyne Vega as well as a makeup artist on site for this session. We will be paying closer attention to makeup and wardrobe to make sure the looks are on a higher level. Our model – https://www.instagram.com/clementynejoy/

This class can be paired with the afternoon retouching class to get an understanding of the whole process from start to finish.

*NOTE: students enrolling in this class should have strong knowledge of manual camera settings and be comfortable adjusting them (shutter speed, aperture, ISO, white balance).  If you’re not yet comfortable with this, please take photo 102 first.

Major topics covered:

1. Learn the basics of posing for 3/4, full length and headshot images.
2. We will discuss selecting the right type of lighting scenarios for your subject’s unique face or your client’s unique needs.
3. We will have a chance to shoot two looks in about 4 different lighting setups for practice and portfolio.
4. Rob will discuss attention to detail, file delivery and other practices that will help you keep clients happy and build a solid portfolio.
5. Students who return for the afternoon class will have a chance to do the retouching and workflow as follow up with 2-3 images from the shoot.
6. This class will go beyond lighting technique and Rob will be sharing portrait philosophies tested over years of professional shooting to deliver commercial quality results.
7. We will include a brief interview with professional cinematic makeup artist Cindy Rankin to gain her insight on makeup and hair for photo and video capture.

Prerequisites-

-Students should have a basic understanding of manual exposure and some experience using off-camera flash.
-Students should have a camera that has capability to trigger a light with a pocket wizard (ask if you’re not sure)

Class will start with a presentation and samples of work. Hands on shooting will follow. We’ll have a great model and you’re free to use the images in your own portfolio or social media.

In order to give everyone the attention and help they deserve, the class size will be limited to 8 people and one model.
