Take a day-cation and capture portfolio worthy fashion and lifestyle images out in the incredibly scenic Anza Borrego desert. Join professional portrait and lifestyle photographer Rob Andrew and Ben Reeve for a photo excursion where you’ll capture a stylized fashion/lifestyle shoot with agency-caliber models and professional makeup/hair/wardrobe stylist. Get exposed to the world of on-location fashion photography where you’ll learn how things get done behind the scenes.

What to Expect:

You can expect a premium, high end photo shoot where your photographs look like your own professional work and not the typical “workshop shots”. You’ll have 1-on-1 time with the each model to stylize and customize your shoot with Rob and Ben as your coach/assistant. This will not be a “sit & watch” workshop, this is HANDS-ON learning where you will walk away with images that will blow your mind and possibly get you paying gigs. We’ll show you how to find professional agency models with professional makeup, hair and wardrobe. You learn how to scout locations and prepare a staging area to prep your models.

The Details:

Putting together a premium photo shoot with a great team is not easy and you’ll walk away knowing what ingredients you need to produce such a high caliber shoot. Here is the agenda for the workshop:

• (Optional) Arrive the night before and grab drinks with the instructors and be well rested for the shoot in the morning.
• 10am-12pm: Arrival and introduction to how to put on a high end shoot and prepare the models. There will be a brief lecture and lots of Q&A as the models get ready.
• 12pm-1pm: Lunch will be provided during the Q&A.
• 2pm-5pm: Hands on shooting. The class size will be small and allow for lots of 1-on-1 time with the models. Lighting and necessary gear will be provided but you’re welcome to bring your own.
• (Optional) Grab dinner with the instructors and discuss the lessons learned.
• (Optional) Stay after dinner and shoot the stars. Anza Borrego is famous for the clarity for viewing the stars. This is purely optional and for those who just love shooting and hanging with fellow photographers.
• The following night Nov 15th we’ll host a Google Hangout online to perform a photo critique of everyone’s images from the workshop. This is a great opportunity to edit some of your images and get direct feedback from Rob and Ben after you’ve had a chance to edit them.

• How to pose and communicate with models.
• Scouting and finding the best locations for your shoots.
• How to use and setup professional on-location lighting and modifiers to yield the best results.
• Advanced camera settings to overcome the challenges of working on-location.
• The inner workings of a professional lifestyle/fashion shoot that produces commercial quality images.
• All your tech and photo questions answered.
• Have your images critiqued and learn what you can do in post production to make the images even better.

This will be a great way to experience a full scale production, get some great portfolio photos and have fun day in the desert with lots of hands on shooting! Go ahead and register for before the early bird pricing ends on October 21st.

***In general, each class needs 3-5 participants to not be cancelled or rescheduled. The sooner you sign up, the better the odds the class will be held and others will follow and sign up too! If we do not have enough participants by 24 hours prior to class time, we will cancel or reschedule the class, and, at that time you can get a full refund, attend the class on the rescheduled date or receive credit to use toward other classes. This is up to you!
