Local Class Details

Come join us in San Diego for this intro to photography! Photography 101 is the introductory class that combines the basics of composition with new techniques so that you can become a better photographer. This class is essential for any beginner. Students who take this in-person class will be granted FREE permanent access to the online version so they can review any time.

Hands-on Learning Experience

This class lasts 2.5 hours and focuses on an in-depth experience of understanding what separates a great photograph from a snap shot. Your instructor will walk you through practical exercises around:

• Proper lighting
• Getting away from the “tourist position”
• Rule of thirds
• Leading lines
• Symmetry & repetition
• Zooming in and filling the frame
• Shallow depth of field and creating that blurred background effect
• Portrait tips
• Better travel photos
• and much more

• You will have a better understanding of your systems for learning to become a better photographer.
• You will have tackled how to better compose your photos and see instant improvements in the photographs you take.

He specializes in lifestyle, food and portraiture and has worked for brands and publications like Westways Magazine, John Deere, Razer Electronics, Woman's World, Vista Print, Gordon Rush, San Diego Home and Garden, Costco and more. When Rob is not shooting or teaching you can find him hiking or snowboarding in the mountains or playing guitar in and around San Diego.
